Penzance in a Tsuge bent Bulldog.
Nice sunny morning by the lake. Davidoff Flake Medallions in a cob. Coffee and rhubarb pie for breakfast. This morning's music is lake ice cracking as the sun warms things up, crow calls filling in. Somewhere between +3 and +6C.
How do you like the Tsuge pipes? Is that a $$$ model or one of the ones in the line like SP has for $? The bent brandy looks like it is in the size group I am now attracted to.
I've been eyeing those bent brandys as well. Was hoping someone here had one to comment on.
They seem to have a bunch of them, and the price is super low - I mean, lower than the other things I am eyeing, a little Pete system, another Stanwell FW, a small French pipe...
After my KC and POY are paid for I just may jump on it for giggles.
Still smoking that EMP - got distracted
Good morning PSF!
I only have to finish up this egg - the Moretti and WO Larsen #32 is already lined up for me.
This is a $50 one from SP and its a great smoker. I have one of the Bent Brandys also and it is ok and smokes fine but hasn't quite impressed me the way this one did, but I seem to like shorter pipes anyway. I think they are both hard to beat for the money, but this Bulldog is one of my favorites and I am really enjoying smoking my Penzance in it this morning.
Breakfast, McClelland Blackwoods Flake, Billiard, Coffee, "Happy Easter" weekend everyone...
First bowl was in a vintage MM Radio with Reverie (bottom center pipe), currently enjoying Anni Kake in the Tsuge Tankard
A wonderful Good Friday to you all.
Starting off with some very mild, so-so Penzance in an
old Kaywoodie Dublin. Making it more exciting with a big pinch of Grizzly wintergreen dip. Tetley tea always at hand.
I love that Tsuge and almost bought that pipe the same time you bought yours, but had just purchased a few and decided not too. I sill go check on them though.
A blend called Morning Paper from the B&M in a MM Spool with a forever stem. Morning coffee on the side.
Been giving a lot of thought about writing a review on that pipe, I think it would be the BEST first pipe anyone could own IMHO and it keeps me company everyday on my walkabout with Levi, lots of bang for the buck.
Kendal Flake in a Brebbia First. I must have built a stronger immunity to the Lake Sauce since I last cracked this jar. I could have sworn it was more full-on soap than it is now. Man, this stuff is good!
Yeah and its a bugger to keep it lit!
GL Pease Laurel Heights all morning in a Benton Big Ben while drinking good hot coffee, five whitetails were trying to get to the river this morning for a drink I think the smell of my pipe put them off I could see their noses in the air then they looked right at me and trotted off, beautiful!
G&H BB #2 in my BB&S "Cragmoor" and runnin' out the door. G'Day all!
Kendal Flake is simply awesome, especially once the rose scent wears off. I think it's the best G&H in terms of flavor, body, and outright satisfaction.
Another unsung hero is the Scotch Flake (unscented) which is described as a mild Virginia flake with a touch of sun-cured. I thought it would be boring, but instead it blossoms into an incredibly satisfying smoke. And it's always good no matter when you smoke it.
Still beavering away on the Dunhill Light Flake, which really opened up by mid-bowl. No doubt about it, this is exceptional weed. Just a bit understated.
Happy Easter everyone, off today but on call, so have been working since 7:30am. Just took care of the last emergency, so time to load this...
I don't like Special Latakia Flake and nobody else should either!
