Today I decided to crack open a tin of roll cake. Figured I break out the David Jones stubby poker. It's a freight train...

I have a red tin from 2000 that I got off eBay awhile back that is unopened as of yet. The tin I opened is a new one just purchased. I wanted to make sure I liked it before opening the older tin. If I didn't like it I could at least offer someone an unopened "vintage" tin. I am sure I will like it though. I'll let you know.

On another note, how do you like P&W 622? Alot more Lat than the 400 and a little sweeter but I like it as well. Just a different smoke than the 400.

I like 622 equally as much as 400. Glad you've got a tin of Red, if you find you don't like it, I'll take it all of your hands. If and when you open the Red, you'll be able to tell all those myth believing "latakia really goes dead with aging" people that it just ain't so:)

Mostly sweet and I could taste the maple, but every once in a while the perique would add some sour to the sweet. I quite enjoyed it in the cob, actually. Rich really has some nice blends.

Thanks. I guess that's the end of my debate with myself as to getting a cob or 3. I quite enjoy 4Noggins Prairie Wind and Painter Hills, both of which contain perique but the Painter Hills also has a little latakia. I find the perique in a smaller bowl like the Peterson Canadian just adds a nice edge to the sweetness.
Now to decide on which cobs....

Thank you. Bent or straight Legend? Guess Aristocob will get some more business shortly.

Bent. I'm going to order a variety of bent and straight. You can also order and extra stem and convert it, I think.
