I got it to use to sweeten my pipes this past weekend after an everclear & cotton ball deep clean. I only used maybe a thimble full. I'm about to get a bigger thimble & use it to whet my whistle ;) Too late for coffee....

Jack Knife Plug in my Cherry Cob.
Danged if I'm not continually surprised at the quality of smoke I get from this pipe. Kudos rekamepip!!

Beautiful day here today warm and sunny. I fished and old cob out of the junk box and put a stem on it, I usually think of these on a meerschaum pipe but I had a bunch of these and have been wanting to try delrin tenons so here it is.

I've been craving Latakia for two days so tonight I popped a tin of bow legged bear from '04 and I'm smoking it in this cob, evening coffee to wash it down.

Great day today. I received my Rekamepip red rock cob I call "rockcobsta." Also from Rekamepip, a cherry wood pipe and a bonus pipe he threw in all very nice plus a sample of Bull Run. I loaded up "rockcobsta" with some Blue Mountain and had a very nice smoke. That is one sweet pipe. Thats not all. I also received my DGE Nosewarmer from Doug which I loaded up with said Bull Run. First pull on the nosewarmer and I went cross-eyed. Short stem pipe needs a nice easy draw. Once I figured it out and settled into it I had one fine fine smoke. Thank you John and Doug. Two top notch people! Still have that B52's song in me head...

Finished my homework by 10pm tonight! Kendal Dark in the Wessex Dublin. This is the perfect blend for this (and almost every other) pipe:th1:

    AMEN to that!

I'm going to have to experiment a bit - it occurred to me later that the Vauen is a 9mm filter pipe, and while I have never really noticed a diminished flavor with the filter previously it may be that the subtle floral notes were affected by it in this case. All in the name of science I will try it in various pipes and see how they stack up.

a beautiful day today, sun shining, birds singing, flowers blooming, and a thin layer of pollen covering everything. Typical New England spring. After watching the Bruins win in overtime I went out for a quick walk around my quiet neighborhood with LNF. I packed it a bit too tightly, so it's time now for a very late dinner, and then I'll finish what's left of this bowl. VA/Per, how I love thee.

Taking a short break to post that I'm nearly finished with a bowl of Bayou Night in a 1979 medium bend etch relief meerschaum lined TinderBox Arabesque. Trying to decide on my next smoke, and choice of drink. I'm thinking a cup of hot tea since it got chilly this evening. The Braves' Justin Upton and trade "throw-in" Chris Johnson - both ex-Diamondbacks - have homered against Arizona in their first meeting since the trade. Chris Johnson needs a triple to hit for the cycle. It's 7-1 Braves in the 6th. The Dodgers are losing 4-0 against the Nationals, but Vin sounded good this evening.

Ok..the wind and the storm seem to have died down, so I'm trying again with the Tinsky and Escudo. Leafs lost, so this is a consolation smoke...

Resolving to go to bed early is NOT the same thing as falling asleep early. Ugh. I'm gonna hafta dial it back by notches. Too much staying up late recently . . .

Last pipe: More North Sea. No music. Just sitting at the window, listening to the traffic on the busiest street in downtown. I don't know why I find that relaxing.

Been at the hospital all day as my wife had her knee replaced again today. First one was botched six months ago.
Enjoying a bowl of Sherlock Holmes VR blend in a rock cob.
