Last night I enjoyed my small MM with SWR, and later my MM CG with "Golden Moon" , it was the first time a I smoked any "fancy" tobacco in a MM pipe, it was just fine, those cobs smoke as good as anything for me.

To think, these are people I've shared a line with, made meals by my own two hands not to mention vats of rare single malt scotch!

    Banjo,
I like your approach but you need to follow through, not stop half way. I suggest your tippet be a single hair taken from the tail of a white stallion and that your flies be tied on bent sewing needles. Good luck and best regards, Bill Lambot

Nope. Just a Goatroper with a lot of nice stuff who still can't sing. [IMG]

    Fish the Payne instead.
Otherwise, keep calm and carry on.

Just please don't fall and break something (including you) or lose the pipe... to your question, it will feel like it.

Ah the Payne, it now lives in NJ and has morphed into a 7'6" Garrison 204.

Well, you need to wear your Breeches and I remember the smell of the Three Nuns -- will at least make you fishing alone

Frog Morton Cellar in an Peterson Donegal Rocky Billiard (shape 6). This is an older one with a silver band instead of nickle like the newer ones and it has a P-lip. First couple of draws tasted like Nightcap. It was the last thing I smoked in this pipe and there must have still been some residue that I didn't clean out. After a few draws the Nightcap went away and the FMC took over. Very pleasant...and I didn't mind the initial blast of Nightcap either since it's another blend I love.

I really love this pipe...the only problem is that it tends to get some sour spittle coming up through the stem a couple of times every time I smoke it. I dunno if it's because it's on the small side and I'm drawing a little too hard once in a while or what. I don't have this problem with my other Pete (a system standard 303 with a P-lip) or with my other straight pipes (a large Savinelli Billiard and a Conway Bulldog). It's a small thing to deal with though, since it usually only happens once or maybe twice during my smoke. I can just wipe it away or use a pipe cleaner and it's fresh again.

Went for the campfire ambiance with the Medico VFQ full of Sutliff Berkshire and a side of coffee. Another beautiful morning in Charlotte, NC.

Up and sort of at 'em. I've lots to do today. Suzy and Molly do, too, as they need to fill their quota of cat naps. I'm starting the day off with Simply Orange and thanks to Ruffinogold, Astley's 55 in an early Radice Rind three quarter bend sandblast egg with a bamboo-style carving on the shank.

Had a burley day yesterday and an aromatic(ish) smoke this morning. Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Dunhill Standard Mixture in a Ferndown 2* billiard.

Good morning, sitting at the kitchen counter burning in a new cob with a bowl of PA while I enjoy the quietness of the mountains with a cup of coffee...

That would have had to have been the Philadelphia A's. The Tribe did not play the Phillies in '54.

I think I got one of my favorite pipes from you not too long ago. Good little nosewarmer. I like to carry it with me when I go out.

I believe the report was the first win in Philadelphia since '54. Of course, I received this gem from my local news, so, consider the source. Almost as reliable as The NY Times...:whis:

Edit...I do believe I said I needed more coffee today too.

Fireing up some Kickin Chicken in the Pete Sterling '52, so generously supplied by psquared. Thanks :bdance:. This has got to be the very best VA I have ever smoked. It's surprising me how smooth and tasty it is. Lots of smoke and the best VA room note I've had. A nice lite nic hit to make it comfortable. I actually thought it would put me down, nope, not at all. Very, very good smoke.
You all that got in on the group buy sure knew what you were doing. Now, I cant wait till Oct. I just hope they start out with enough to fill our orders. Maybe we can get them to let us know before they release it to the public.

If anyone relies on good info from the NY Slimes they'll be very under informed!
