Lot's of folks waste meat when it comes to birds, I've listened to hunters tell me "oh just breast that out the rest isn't worth the effort". I heard this for ducks, geese, pheasant, ruffed grouse (or partridge "pahtridge in Maine" and Woodcock. Well they are all wrong, it takes very little effort to do these birds justice cleaning them correctly and cooking them correctly. Woodcock have dark breast meat and white leg meat the opposite of what you expect but they spend more time in flight and/or eating worms which they dive through dirt with using their breast muscles hence the dark meat, their legs do little work. Three Woodcock will feed you heartily if they are males 1 if it's a female as they are nearly 3x larger and the meat is very rich, cooked med rare in butter with a bit of black pepper in a hot cast iron skillet. :drly:

Unless the ladies want an assortment of partially eaten small animals, I guess I'm sunk for now, cats don't draw the ladies with the catch o the day:eek:

I had cats and rabbits for 30 years then came Levi, I did have a Springer that we had to put down and vowed not to get another dog until I retired.

All this talk of ladies has simply reminded me of how buff I am. And how much long, flowing hair I've got. And my manly chiseled features. And how buff I am. But I almost forgot that I'm smoking LTF in the big-chamber Sav 315 EX. (Did I say how buff I am?)

    Edit: And really cut.

Dinner's going to run later, so I'm lighting up a bowl of Old Dark Fired in a smooth briar calabash shape 1984 Fero Danese made in Italy. Same bottle of Sprite. Lots of ball games are starting soon, and I'm ready to listen to a couple of them.

No, chiseled refers to my manly features. Cut refers to my surgery conditioning.

Hmm, Lucy was with us from 1991-2001 and Maxwell from 1987-2004, Stuart (on his best days and Stew on his not so good days) was with us from 1993-1997 and Tofu from 1994-2003. Doing the math in my head and with an abacus at my feet I'd say the cats and the rabbits were here at the same time and yes, they were house bunnies although Stuart terrorized the cats and Tofu the cats wanted to play with, they would line up their toys in front of him and he'd pick them up one by one and bring them back, this would go on for hours. Tofu did not have a door on his cage Stuart's was triple bolted...............
