Evening folks. Old Ironsides in a Neerup.

Muggy out. 74F, 75%RH. One advantage of being in the city, though, is the relative absence of mosquitoes compared to being at the lake the past 2 nights. Still, I do believe I'd take the lake as a permanent residence, given a choice. The main problem with that, of course, is that I don't own a lake house. But hey, having a friend who has one is better in a way: he pays the bills and maintains the boat and quads, and all I do is bring some food and a couple cans of gas. :D

And how is the pipe performing? Is it living up to your expectations?

Oh yeah I got it :) I was just joking about your reference to the one extra empty bucket (good idea, btw) and hoping to never use it :D

The longest the power was out here was 2 days (summertime).
What has scared me since I moved out to the mountains is the possibility of the power going out during a heavy snowstorm in winter. During the winter of 10'/11' we had 90+ inches of snow total (I think most of the East Coast area was hammered that winter). Including a paralyzing 30" snowstorm(!) when my brother and I were stranded in the house for 5 days. Thank God, the power never went out that winter. There is only one road off this little foothill/mountain we live on, and it was completely blocked.
Fortunately we made it through that blizzard.

Packing some SWRA as the rain continues to fall :puffy:

Thanks for everything , man ! You are a class act all the way :th1:

Being you have a Bunn [ we have one as well ] I need to send you some Yuban coffee ! In the bunn at half a cup a pot ... it is spectacular :drly:! We drank Maxwell House [ regular ] for years and enjoyed it .. then tried the Yuban one day and were blown away . I've tried it in other coffee makers and they just don't cut it . Yuban and Bunn !

Velvet Pipe tobacco is so damn good ! I'm on the porch with some now in a Whitehall Meer lined that I've been smoking half the day ! Btw , the Savinelli Dry system Pot is so light weight .. Ill smoke it tomorrow or tonight if I'm up late

Also , I think it sucks your people got moved out of this area . A major screw job that should never have happened .I just want you to know that the people from here that I've talked to now feel ashamed about it and if you ever wanted to get back to your roots ... please come . It is an incredible area ... plus we could smoke together

I was going to smoke an English blend, but my sweet tooth registered a complaint, and Lord knows one shouldn't ignore a sweet tooth. So, thanks to Highstump, I'm smoking Edgeworth Slices in a 1984 medium bend black grain etched Savinelli Non Pareil 9310 poker. Going to listen to the news for a little bit while working. Ice water chilled to the proper temperature is my drink.

Btw, Molly caught the flying bug, and I got it from her before she could eat it. I don't think she was amused by my interference. She claims they taste like chicken.

Makes the old mouth water just looking at it.

I liked it so much I sprang for the 5 pound bulk bag. A tad drier, but pretty much the same.

When it starts getting too mild, I fold a few strands of Irish Flake into it. And that's a smoke made in heaven.

Finishing up the DT in a Sav 316 ...

(or don't say nothing about it anyhow)

Someday we will smoke a pipe together !
