Now that taste buds have been reset !
Symphony in my working mans pipe
Go Tribe! Good night fellas.
Sneaking in a half bowl of Dunbar. This is my first time trying it and WOW! Just fantastic! The aweetness of the VA comes through and the amount of perique is perfect. I'm looking forward to further exploring this blend.
Anglers Dream in a CDL,Straub Lt beer.
Some Anni Kake on top of some Kickin Chicken in My '70's Stanwell Freehand. WooHoo!!!
Just back from the building common room. Only place I can catch TV. Some show was on that I've never seen before. Premise seemed to be that good-looking cops like to shoot bad guys.
I don't think I'm missing much.
One more pipe, then bed. I'm exhausted.
I have a feeling with the POY bowl size it may be possible, we shall see, it just needs to stop raining here.
Thanks to Ruffinogold, I'm smoking Robert McConnell Matured Folded Flake in a 1999 medium bend black sandblast Savinelli Tris 677KS with a cumberland stem. I've been looking forward to trying this blend. So far, so good.
The Red Sox are taking a beating from the Indians, 12-3 in the 6th. The Orioles are hurting, too, as the Blue Jays are beating them 12-6 in the 8th.
And what would one call this blend
I just got a Savinelli 316 EX and am still reeling from the experience. I already have a number of Savs, but this thing was created by some sort of pipe smoking deity.
I've now had 3 bowls of Dark Twist in it, and they were some of the best smokes of my life. And I've been smoking for 45 years! So I can understand your point wanting to buy more.
That's exactly what I'm going to do with the 316. And to top it off, the thing is even a sitter! Absolutely perfect for flakes, coins, or any pressed tobacco. I think Achille saw Sixten Ivarsson's No. 95 and No. 86, and decided to go one better. An impossible feat, but he did it.
LNF in a DH Shell Prince ...
Sugar Barrel in a Lark
Watching all that Dr. Who paid off.
Still LNF in a DH ...
Got all the grandkids at the house tonight
how they got here is beyond me
so i think i will sneak off to the garage for some quiet time
that and work on my old codger scowl with the twitching eye
Kickin Anni or Chicken Anni, it was a parfet so maybe smothered chicken, lol.
Cut the grass smoking a bowlful of Blue Mountain in a MM Cobb. Cooled down with a big glass of sweet tea and another cobb full of Shortcut To Mushrooms. Feeling like a "Cobbit" now.
I was in the mood for perique, and I was about to dry a bowl's worth of Night Train, but remembered my Kickin Chicken, which needs no drying time because I like it bone dry, so I don't jar it and just let the open tin dry out.
So, Kickin Chicken in the Baki
This LNF in a DH is ... I must say ... very very nice.
The tobacco arrived in my P&C order earlier this week. On first appearance it didn't look too promising. The jar aroma was OK, but nothing special.
However the smoking experience is truly exceptional. Nice and dry. The perique gives it real depth. And it seems to clean and invigorate the taste buds rather than saturating them. No wonder you see LNF is about 3 out of every 10 posts in this thread. Good stuff. Thus far it has nudged slightly ahead of LTF in my book.
I had hoped that Newminster Navy Flake would be more like this. The NF smells fantastic out of the jar, but the flavor and aftertaste don't come anywhere close to LNF. Perhaps some aging will improve that situation.
Now i've got some PK in the 70's era Jobey Stromboli Rhodesian.
