I recall how smoky the train cars were in Germany when I was there in th '90s. It was . . . Nice.
Good morning everyone just fired up my first smoke of the day, McClelland #22 in a DrG Grand Duke on the side.
Seriously? Your only pipe? Head to the drugstore and get a cob for $5
Puffing on some CH with a little cavendish thrown in.
I've seen the drugstore cobs. Are they OK?
As long as they say Missouri Meerschaum on the package. MM is the only game in town. Avoid any cob that is not an MM.
Most of my MM cobs were purchased at the drugstore years ago. So hopefully the stores in your area carry them.
They are. OK, thanks. I should be back in business by tonight.
So, to solicit more advice--as long as I'm replacing a low-end pipe: Grabow? Or basket pipe from Tinderbox?
Some things just makes you be prouder to be a patriot and know you are in good company. Being a Vet is one thing, but being a patriotic Vet means more. I will never be ashamed to stand with all my fellow vets and salute those that have passed on and those that are still with us and giving there service every day. Happy Memorial Day!
Careful though, MM Cobs are highly addictive I only smoke cobs, so not sure about Grabow vs. Tinderbox...hopefully someone will help you out.
Still smoking CH/cavendish combo with some coffee.
I have the utmost respect for all of you Veterans. God bless you
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.
While it was miserable and Levi spent more time looking out for me than he did enjoying his walkabout we did manage to get one in with the ever ready Tsuge Tankard and AoTM promptly stuck in my face. Had to ride out several rain storms, one under the Gazebo and 2 in the SL500 but managed to make it. Now home with a double espresso of freshly ground Brazil Saquarema Fazenda from the single origin farm of Fazenda Nossa de Fatima from Matt's Wood Roasted Coffee in Pownal ME the only MOFGA certified coffee ever allowed to be served at the Common Ground Fair.
I also went to the Native American Shop Little Bull to see if Ed Bullock (Eyes That Shine) a Native American from the Wampanoag Tribe was available but he wasn't but his wife willingly shared the Tobacco Ceremony with me and I will be doing it on Memorial Day with the prayer she suggested. Once again thank you to John for this wonder masterpiece.
Smoking some Golden Extra in a cob, a few times, today! Already have downed several mugs of pg tips tea, reading what you all have typed here. It's nice to be able to share things with this bunch of good people. Have a great weekend all!
Just check to see if it's a Missouri Meerschaum and pay attention to the bowl and overall work, if it has the maple plug on the bottom instead of the paper label it will last a decade if taken care of.
Thank You for your service !
SJF in my Upshall S grade plateau freehand
They also may have a Medico. It will at least give you a smoke.
Good morning PSFers. Starting the day with Old Dublin in a cob. Now on my second pipe of MB Plum Cake. First was in a cob. Second is in a briar. Both doing the trick.
Thanks to Everyone Who Serves and has Served this Wonderful Country ! USA
We are Blessed with Freedom and without it
we probably would not even have an opportunity to have an online community such as this
even though it is full of jerks wonderful people that hate each other so much

Happy Memorial Day Weekend all. And a sincere Thank You to all the vets out there. Astley's #44 in the Pete Sherlock Holmes, here's to all who serve and those who have given the full measure.
Carter Hall in my DGE poker. Hoping the lady will come over here in a few to make this saturday a bit more enjoyable
