Well off to the library to pick up my book, Mixture Modern in the Castello Old Sea Rock with military bit!
I gave the rest of my MCB to a buddy to try out, the more I smoked it the more I like CH, oh well it's not bad, but not a go to blend for me. I'm going biking after work, and when pipe time rolls around I'll start with CH in a cob, and a briar full o' the "good" stuff later. happy piping boys !
Hey the mail brought me my new Basil Meadows "Bullitt Proof Cobb!" I'll be running a bowl of CH in her this afternoon. Beautiful pipe!! Few more hours of BS then its smoking the stress away time.

I've seen people smoke coffee rolled up in rolling papers before. Not kidding.

Generally speaking Mixture Modern doesn't generally do much beyond a reasonably nice smoke and I don't usually go for pipes with such a large bowl width. It must be the combination of the wide ID of the bowl coupled with the depth (nearly same as the width) that is magic to this blend, the pipe is definitely a keeper!

Went to the shed and there were 3 pouches 1 PA ,1 SWR , 1 CH, a little in all of them. I now have quite a mix. Never did that before.

Yeah, you'r right - it's Burley and Perique inside and VA on the outside, you smell fermented fruit? interesting...maybe because it's still too moist.
I haven't noticed that before. What I like the most about the Strang are the different stages of flavors, sometimes the flavors are changing several times during the smoke, in the last third they're all harmonized together.
