Maybe you should sleepwalk and go to practice your drums.

Not at all. I want that pipe very much. Very pleasing contrast with the background. Beautiful classic shape.

As any codger will tell you, one of the most deeply satisfying things in life is to bitch, wail, moan, and complain. Young people aren't allowed to do this, so they have to come up with excuses to get away with it. That's where Blues music comes in.

But young people would be better off by just getting in touch with their inner codger. Whenever they get the urge to b, w, m, and c, they should just load up on some Carter Hall and let her rip. They'd feel a lot better. And no need to give any thought to the consequences either. The value of having friends is grossly overrated.

I have nothing against white blues music. It's just that they keep naming their musicians things like Stevie, Eddie, and Jimmie. Sounds more like an episode of Leave It to Beaver.

No Peterson 120 in the collection, but I will join you in some Dark Twist ...

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The MB spun discs always feel dry to the touch, but they hold moisture. Five minutes on the lamp using Simmo's trick with the coffee filter put them in perfect condition. Then I placed 5 discs in the wide-mouthed Cavicchi like a stack of pancakes, and rubbed out the last disc on top as kindling.

I take my time lighting MB tobaccos, especially the spun discs. Otherwise the tongue perishes. So it's a 1 second hit with the lighter using 1-2 shallow puffs. Wait 5 seconds, tamp gently, and repeat. It takes as many as 8 relights to really get going, but it's worth it. This is a sweet sweet natural smoke, with that rich background note of dark-fired Kentucky. But those flavors only seem to emerge when it burns very slow and cool. Shallow bellows puffing is a must. Smoked too quickly it's a bland, hot, punishing experience.

As much as I like this tobacco, I really wouldn't recommend it in general unless you're a SLOW smoker. If you puff eagerly in search of Vitamin N, best to stay away from this one. And most smokers I know puff too fast and long for Dark Twist.
