Settled down for the evening, after doing some house cleaning with my GF. Having some English Oriental in an Old Dog meer, while my old dog is snoring softly on the floor beside me. Sipping peach herbal tea and having a couple of graham crackers with fig preserves or elderberry jam on them. Oh, and watching Horatio Hornblower on DVD.
A pleasant evening, I do not want to return to work tomorrow! LOL :puffy:

Smoking a new Froggy tonight. This one is Frog Moton in the Celler. Smoked in my big avatar pipe. Yum, Yum Yummy. Smells great and I love the whisky taste.

Earlier talk of snobby cobs got me to go get mine. So just now it's Bow-Legged Bear in my Snake Suit Cob Snob.

Braves are clinging to a 4-3 lead going to the 9th. Vin Scully and the Dodgers are on the radio, so I'm watching the Braves while listening to Vin. I also put on my lab coat and am experimenting with adding perique to PH Special Curly Cut (thanks to Mount Mandolin) in a 2002 Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Milverton. I'm trying to determine if some perique will make it taste more like the tinned VaPer Three Nuns. As of now, being half way down the bowl, it's closer to that version of Three Nuns with the added perique. It's sweeter and less tangy because the Curly Cut doesn't have any of the Brazilian tobacco in it. But it's a fairly acceptable substitute now. This may be the closest I can come to recreating Three Nuns with this blend.

PS: Kimbrel blew another save, so the game is tied in the bottom of the ninth.

*sigh!* Kimbrel gave up back to back homers with two outs in the 9th, and the Reds win 5-4. Think I'll need a strong drink and a stronger smoke.

Been dipping Copenhagen fine original all day, and now about to dip again, then light this pipe of Sutliff French Quarter, which I've decided to give another try. It definitely needs some "mellow-out-open-in-the-tin-time," though.

I'm glad you've had some success with that experiment. Let me also say that if you buy some of that Special Curly and sit on it for a couple of years, it gets a nice, deep flavor to it. That won't make it tangy like what you're talking about, but it does enhance the overall experience, and I would wager that if you like it the way it is now (only a few months old), you'd like it a whole lot with a few years on it. It would be especially interesting to go ahead and add the perique to it and then age it like that. You might just strike gold if you tried that.
