Pipes are a lot like dogs in that way. They will put up with a lot of disappointment before they get fed up and quit.

Oh, yeah! This pipe will do well until the bitter end. I have great respect for it. It'd probably be the last pipe I'd ever part with. The best $50 I ever spent on a pipe. I do wish at times that I knew of its past history.

Sir Walter Raleigh in a Blakemar. Today is the Iron Bowl (Auburn vs. Alabama), and I am an Auburn fan. So, any of you who know about college football will know what a sad situation that makes for me. Oh well, what can ya do. Happy Saturday everyone!

Looks awful bad for Auburn; FSU has not shown up yet, but Florida hasn't put a win completely out of sight. Come on Noles!
Smoke plans for the day changed a little. I put the Dip through it's paces today. Found a small sample of McB Scottish Mixture and so I started with that for my second smoke today. Piper Mike showed up with the H&H; both the Pinkerton variety and the new Lane. Having never tried H&H, I started with the Pinkerton followed by the Lane. It was obvious that the Lane version was milder than the Pinkerton and it seems like it had a touch of vanilla taste near the end. Neither one will replace CH in my top rotation. I really need a change now, so I am loading a BC bent Rhodie with #5100. Have a nice weekend.

Just smoked my first bowl of the " new " London Dock in a Grabow Pot . It wasnt anything like the London Dock I smoked in the 1970's [ Wich was a great blend ] . This stuff was a trip though , it was kinda like CH w/ a touch of Lakeland and a super light touch of cherry . I'm gonna smoke another in a while :puffy:

Just packed my Randy Wiley Rhodie with H&H Rolando's Own for after dinner, while waiting for the dumplins to cook. I need to get pics of this beautiful piece of briar. Given this crew, I should probably snap a pic of the chicken 'n' dumplins as well (before hubby pillages it).
