Squadron Leader in a Grabow Viking.
Taking a short break and am half way through smoking FVF in a small 1982 three quarter bend meer with a smiling turbaned Turk's head.
Tilbury in a Karl Erik a 1/4 bent brandy, and some Dickel 12
Started my evening with French Roast and the burley slice/Pirate Kake mix I have become so fond of.
Still working, and now smoking Fox and Hound in a 1975 full bend black Dunhill Shell 52021. Ice water chilled to the proper temperature with floaty li'l icebergs a'twistin' and a'turnin' in the glass. Listening to old radio shows as I work.
Burning a Dunhill Flake in the GBD Tanzania not-quite-a-panel-pipe meer.
Listing my next smoke a few minutes early: Voodoo Queen in a 2003 Ural full bend big bowl egg shaped Lattice meer. Now, back to work and radio shows.
Special Latakia Flake in the Marxman rhodesian from Holymolar. I've been tying flies for a while and am lining up quite an arsenal of caddis pupa. Time to reward my hard work with a late-night pipe.
I usually smoke on Friday night. Tonight was different. A great man and friend of mine brought in a container of old tobacco. It was over 30 years old. He doesn't know exactly but it's from the early seventies approx. It was an english blend that he called Ratners. I have never heard of it. There was about 4 oz. left in it. Each of is had a bowl to smoke. And lemme tell ya, it was amazing! It had the perfect amount of latakia in it. Very smooth. Great note. And even tasted better! Wish I had a ton of it so I could smoke every day.
Oh, and I also smoked a bowl of Babados Plantation.
Good morning all from the Shire. Damp & cold start, but the Sun is out -here in Yorkshire.
Birthday smoke of Bosun Cut plug in a Falcon/Plymouth to kick off the day.
The good lady put some pouches of St Bruno in my prezzie box, will be seeing all the grandchildren over the weekend, some who are coming up from the South - & Sunday lunch out - will be a good one!
Caddis pupa are a regular part of my arsenal as well. Davie Macphail has a few patterns on Youtube that are outstanding.
Started off the morning with FVF in a little Pietenpauw nosewarmer Rhodie, coffee on the side.
Happy Birthday, Fordy! Have a great weekend's worth of celebration!
Speaking of celebrations - Congrats, WalkinStick, on your wedding day! I doubt you'll be on the forum today to read this, but I thought the occasion should be marked.
And here's donuts for the morning crew. Somebody else will have to make the coffee.
and Olive wood
Had to go out for lunch with some students after my first smoke. Back at home now a working on a bowl of Carter Hall in a DGE Poker Nose Warmer with coffee on the side. I have a couple hours before I have to be anywhere. I'm going to sit back and do some well deserved relaxing.
Work is done for the day, and I celebrated with eating a big slice of cake. Now, thanks to our buddy Flatbush Paul - who I hope is doing well today - I'm smoking Kendal's #7 in a 2013 bent MM Missouri Pride Legend. On to play ear plug catch with Suzy and Molly.
Capstan Gold Navy Cut in my brushed Zavvos zulu followed by a bowl of Original Choice in a straight MM Legend (black danish bit). PG Tips. Listening to the radio. On my balcony.
I may be smoking Angler's Dream in a 2013 medium bend Spillproof corndog cob, but Suzy and Molly were catching the ear plugs, though I think they're worn out from it now. I'll feed them some tuna soon and they'll really be happy.
SG BBF in a Blakemar 'Prince' - one of a pair, the other being sandblasted. Sometime soon, I'm going to ask Mike Billington (Mr Blakemar) to make me a third, rusticated, so that I've got a trio, one in each of the three basic finishes.
