Yea she's a keeper! She actually packed the bowl pretty good, but I'm thinking she's up to something because she's killing me with kindness today.

    Still smoking moldy penzance.

In a sudden and rare fit of decisiveness, I have filled my old Dr Grabow (Omega) with C&D Orient Express and the new Dr Grabow (Savoy) with GLP Charing Cross. I'll start with the OE after I finish my leisurely Cobb-ful of Sugar Barrel.

Ok, so I just smoked my first bowl of Hearth and Home's Black House, and it has been a while since I finished a bowl in complete awe. This blend twisted and turned through a labyrinth of delightful earthy, salty, sweet, smokey, tangy flavors all while never being harsh and was at the same time completely harmonious. I've been searching for an english that not only held my attention, but also burned smooth and easy at the same time. The overall flavor is delicious and the bottom of the bowl tastes just as fresh as the top of the bowl. Maybe I haven't had many of the great blends out there, but Black House stands above the ones I have had. :gjob:Russ. Seriously, I just looked at my pipe and asked "did that just happen?"
    Wow.

Albert, Russ O can certainly blend some tasty tobacco! My current favorites from him are Angler's Dream (burley "codger" blend with cinnamon), Obsidian (see review in Pipe Tobacco Review section), and Eggnog ... best with a glass of eggnog on the side, of course. BlackHouse is supposed to be a match for the old Sobranie 759, and seems to have an almost cult-like following.

Shows Hearth and Home actually make an Egg Nog blend. Curious.

Russ O is the head tobacco blender for P&C/HPCS, and the line is named Hearth & Home. He even answered the phone there one time when I called - nice guy!

A VaPer day. Anniversary Kake for the ride into work and Escudo for my afternoon after lunch. Thinking of cracking a tin of Blakeny Best Latakia flake that has been sitting around for a while for my evening smoke.
