I am trying this with a couple old no-name estate briars for my dad ... except I am using his old favorite, Canadian Mist. I'll probably send him the bottle as well, and put a sticker on it that says "Pipe Sweetener".
    :puffy:

Edit for clarification: I *am* soaking a couple briars for my dad. They'll have plenty of time to dry.

On my incredibly tiny scale of "burleys I've smoked" I like the Boswell's more than Carter Hall but I think Uhle's PPB is better. If I only want a few ounces at a time I might go with Boswell's since it's cheaper, but when I can buy in bulk I'd go with Uhle's since it's only slightly more expensive per ounce in larger quantities (whereas Boswell's has a nice low price across the board). As it turns out it's considerably cheaper for me to buy either of these than CH at the drug store in this area so that works out well for me :D

I think it is properly referred to as Balkan. It was part of a care package sent to me by a PSF member. The bag it came in had S.G.Baltic Flake written on it. I just looked it up and it is Balkan Flake

Painter Hills in a Peterson Rosslare 80S. Hot spiced tea warming me up. Blowing and raining something fierce out there. Had to go out and move a car away from a tree that looks like it may shed some wood. 7C(44F)H92%
Nice to be inside with a good pipe and tea.

Hello everyone, it sounds like you're all smoking some real tasty stuff. This morning I smoked some of a free sample of HH "Burley Kake" in an inexpensive meerschaum. It was nice after remaining in a mason jar for a few months to breath a little. Now I'm finishing a (Savenelli smooth billiard) bowl I started earlier today of "3 oaks original", a blend which has also mellowed after being open for a few weeks.

Reiner LGF in the Northern Briars banker. Always fantastic.

Finally cooled off here. Hopefully this time we won't go back above 80 degrees until April.

1776 Tobacco Co "Tavern" in a LE Tinsky Bulldog. They say its a heavy English, but I can't really taste English blends unless they have some oriental tobacco in it. Sure smells great though.

Some Night Cap with a night cap (Bombay Sapphire, Canada Dry Ginger Ale and a fresh lime)

My version of a Gin and Tonic, I hate the taste of quinine in tonic water.
