Just had some Squadron Leader in my new Altinok Meer with some Oban 14 Single Malt on the side. Now sitting down to have some Brooklyn Brewery IPA while I chat with my wife.

You are right my friend...the good things in life!

Old SWR is good stuff...I think it rivals Edgeworth.

McC Frog Cellars in a Davorin Bent Tulip. My first taste of this and I like it. Smooth and rich with a nice sweetness. Maybe not as smokey as I would like but very nice.

Started off the evening with Dark Flake Unscented in a smooth 1984 Fero Danese Italy small calabash shape, followed by Onyx in a Peterson Captain Pete XL80. I'm about 10 minutes away from lighting up Anniversary Kake in a 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49.

So the local Tinderbox sells these awesome pipes. I was scheming to be Sherlock Holmes for Halloween just for an excuse to buy one! But unfortunately that didn't pan out. Next year...

I think current SWR is certainly the closest thing to Edgeworth, as well. Certainly not a replacement, but it's my favorite OTC, and I do think it somewhat resembles Edgeworth in that they both have a sorta-similar topping and cut.

Ashton Artisan's Blend in a Soren freehand. This stuff is really meaty, kind of dark tasting. Makes sense when you look at the leaf, which is almost all black. I do believe I like it. This is my first time smoking a pipe tobacco product with my name on it, too. :)

EDIT: Do you guys who smoke Billy Budd think it will ghost a pipe? I'm wondering if some got left in my pipe from when I smoked some of it yesterday. The dark, meaty taste I'm talking about really reminds me of my first impression smoking Billy Budd.

Bravo BigJ, that Father Orin is one of my favorites. ;)

As for right now, I am burning another bowl of Ogdens Walnut that I received from my good friend Ruff!!! I love this stuff John, now all I have to do is find a constant source for it and I will be "sittin in high cotton". :)
