Smoking some MacB Club Blend in the smallest pipe away from my bedside. It a diminutive Ram Canadian but still manages a size 4 bowl. Thin walls and under an ounce. Probably not the best choice but it was next up.

Work seems to be going well today so I'm treating myself to another bowl. Switching things up a bit, having some Essence of Vermont in a Brigham billiard.

Smoking this John Bull in a Long reed stem pipestone pipe sure is a whole different ball game compared to an english style pipe

I'm an eclectic reader much like my interest in pipes, I often have 4-5 books going at once and never lose track as to where I am and in what book. I read at least 96 books the year I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma post kidney failure with a 57 day stay in the hospital then chemotherapy following discharge. When I was in the Navy I read 5-6 books every weekend rather than going out and tying one on, books are a great way to get one through life, even better with a great mug of coffee and a smooth smoking pipe close at hand.

Keep raising the bar John and you'll have some of those who overlooked you having to dry out their tobacco samples at next years pipe shows.........

I'm trying to work, but Suzy keeps bringing me things and dropping them at my feet. Ear plugs, cat toys, a pipe cleaner, a piece of wicker reed... I'm starting to get the message. Molly's sleeping, so Suzy's bored and wants to play. I'll give in for a couple of minutes and then work. So, I'm smoking FVF in a small 1982 three quarter bend meer with a smiling turbaned Turk's head. A bottle of Sprite is my drink.

The flavor drip off of a bamboo stem is so different compared to vulcanite or lucite
while the smoke is much dryer and cooler the long bamboo seems to suck up the flavor ( at least till it is broke in)

Can't wait till i get some real bamboo to work with ( got some on order )
then i can shank and bit them proper` like.....

RB, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm going to smoke Dunhill Royal Yacht in my DGE Briar Nosewarmer in honor of the memory of your dear Susi. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children today. :toast: To Susi!
