What do you do when
there's no baseball?
I follow DBear's example and hiberate until spring training starts.
The weather turned a bit nasty - lots of rain, and some pretty good gusts. No damage, but pretty impressive.
Dark Flake (to reiterate for WS Dark FlakeDark FlakeDark FlakeDark FlakeDark FlakeDark FlakeDark FlakeDark Flake), in a twin bore.
Yes, it is. I love the intense flavors you get from the crema when taking the first few sips. I call this simple creation my 'lazy latte'... It's a double shot of espresso poured straight into a small to medium cup of warm milk (so, technically more of a flat white). Whatever you want to call it; it's delicious! Freshly roasted (<1 week old) beans are a non-negotiable component of this concoction (at least in my house).
Another memorable cup...
The GBD Granatan I recently picked up is loaded with ODFRR with some VA mixed in. Tasty. I do love those saddle stems. Why they are called that... as saddles don't look anything like saddle stems. A double comfort looks more like a saddle, IMO, anyway.
Doing the Rocktoberfest Rock with the Rockin' Black Rock Cob, with black bamboo shank and black and amber Forever Stem, filled with 965, diet Gingerale at room temp riding shotgun............
Getting a quick pipe in before a big storm rolls through NH.
Altadis Vanilla Maple in the Dr. G. 1/4 bent Riviera. Fresh iced coffee on the side.
Ok, ok. Note to self... Include a good amount of these G, H & Co. flakes that Jon keeps talking about in my next order. Pusher
To me, a "good amount" is no less than a pound. Of each.
A ride home bowl of Middletons Walnut in the MM Diplomat
Wacha loses the no-hitter, but the Cards lead the Bucs 2-1 in the 9th. I'm smoking Wessex Dark Flake in a 2002 medium bend smooth Rinaldo EGEA 03 Silver line spigot 10. More Simply Lemonade to drink.
For several days the only thing I have in mind is CASTELLO! BULLDOG! ... uhm no you need a TWIN BORE first, a nice craggy ring grain blasted RADICE,...NOOO purchase a CASTELLO first! a smooth one! NO, you really NEED a OLD ANTIQUARI bent CASTELLO!!!
Damn you Thanks a lot, Berg and physiognomy!
Could someone please just buy this one, I don't think I can resist much longer...
I've probably seen this video a hundred times now and I know this is totally my pipe, unfortunately totally not my price range.
Good evening PSF,
I'm finally home now from a long long shift at work, almost midnight here, but that won't stop me from having a nice bowl before bedtime.
Stonehaven - thanks to my Canadian friend David Emond - in a ...uhm pipe. Haven't decided on the pipe yet, but obviously not a Castello.
Stokkebye luxury twist flake in my Spillproof Special.
DGTing PS LNF in my Red Rock Cob. Rock on Roctober! Just got home. Gotta check on the ducklings, then I've got some catching up to do. Puff on!
Got home from work tonight, to discover that some bicycle spare parts that I ordered recently had arrived, all the way from Denmark: a new saddle and handlebars for my Copenhagen Pedersen. She's been off the road for a year or so, but tomorrow I'll fix her up. I'm celebrating with 'Commonwealth Mixture' in a Northern Briar.
Me and my Pedersen a few years ago, outside St Albans Cathedral:
13 pages behind, catching up yet again..
Having some KingsBridge, thanks to Rekamepip(Hey I can at least remember his name Mr Scribbler) in the Mr Brog 47, a handy little pipe for out and about, which I was.
Just had a small bowl of Classic Burley Kake in the MM bent egg, accompanied by a cup of Twinings Lady Grey, between doing various things. Rewarded with really nice weather after fighting the flooding basement through the storms yesterday.
Sorted through my box of pipes today, thinking about selling a couple of Brigham dublins to put toward a MM Freehand and a big tobacco order.
Something simple. 50% McC Red Cake + 50% Uhley's 00. No photo because Photobucket won't accept pic for some reason. Yuengling Larger for moral support.
One more for today. Sugar Barrel in the MM Country Gent.
I've got your back!
