The A's-Tigers game is about to start. I'm almost done smoking Sunrise Smoke in a 1949 medium bend Dunhill Shell. M'lady's gone to get us a pizza, so I may have time for part of another smoke or I may not. I'll survive one way or other, though! A bottle of Bubble Up soda is my drink.

I can't wait. I'm lighting up a bowl of CD Blend in a smooth briar calabash shaped Butz-Choquin Maitre Pipier JR Fait Main with a horn ferrule.

In spite of a promising start the day ended up being kind of unproductive as far as work goes. One of the dangers of self employment and "soft" deadlines, you can give in to distractions so easily. Probably why I don't play video games. Want to wrap up edits on this project by Saturday morning so I can go to Ottawa and Hull for the weekend.

As I lit my pipe in the near darkness a very fat raccoon scuttled across the fence , completely backlit by the moon. I can hear him nearby growling and complaining about something. With the 15 degree (59 Fahrenheit) air and the cozy fireplace/butterscotch smell of the tobacco it was a very autumn moment.

Having some Three Blind Moose in a straight billiard.

(I think the raccoon is right in front of me, I can hear scraping and snuffling but it's too dark to see)

Nice cool evening calls for MM 965 in a GBD Prehistoric Pot, a glass of red wine for added pleasure. Now just requires a Tiger victory to be perfection.

Starting Sonny Gray may have been too bold of a play for the A's.
