Just got done with some Burley Without Bite, had to smoke something good-smelling at my niece's birthday party. I'm drooling over the FMOTB I'm going to smoke tomorrow.

McClellands Boston 1776 in a 61' Dunnie bent. A sample from Spill that had sat in the back of the cabinet for awhile. One of the smoothest/creamiest VA's I've had. Pure gold. The rest of the sample won't last long.

Wow PS Balkan Supreme in a small Rossi Dublin. Haven't had much Latakia in my diet lately. This must change...

Escudo in a Peterson silver spigot 03. 30 years ago the pipe was ebony, not any more. Crushed ice with a splash of Strega for flavour. 7C(45F)H39%

Holy crap. I'm having a "moment" right now. Smoking Pipeworks and Wilke #622. Actually, just came back to finish typing this after I finished the bowl because I was so enchanted by this blend. Incredible stuff. Just eclipsed Nightcap easily. The #400 gets all the praise, but this is the best thing I've had from Ms. Burns to date. Easily, easily one of the very best English blends I've ever smoked, possibly the best. Yeah, probably the best.

Berg, you're a Wilke fan and a Latakia fan, what say you? I'm anxious to know if anyone else has had this stuff and what they think about it.

Edit: Weird, krusty. You and I both just had a shared Wilke moment there. The stars must be aligned tonight.

Agree! 622 is my favorite P&W blend too (Churchill is a close second). Love that deep and smoky taste! I'd classify this as a heavy balkan with an excellent balance between the sweet/dark virginias, the smoky latakia, and the peppery perique. Don't even have to snork this one to taste the goodness! Quite moist and springy straight from the pouch, it takes a light pretty well and smokes down to ash. Good memories :ohyh:

I'm making do with IRC Balkan Supreme in a Celtic 69.

Good evening or morning, whichever you prefer. Codgering it up with Carter Hall, cob, and maybe listen to some Buddy Holly.

I couldn't say I have a favorite between 400, 524, and 622. If you pressed me, I'd go with 400 most days. PipeWorks and Wilke is the reason I didn't care if Dunhill ever came back.

    Quiet Nights in a Radice.
