Apparently it's FVF nite. Enjoying FVF in a Peterson 68
Escudo in a cob
Starting the weekend in my usual manner: Irish oak in the WTF pipe. Beer, of course, though tonight we start off with a nice Saranac Pumpkin Ale before we dive headlong into the hangman's noose. Dholakia Black snuff in the nostrils, for those interested. Wondering what the hell I'm going to watch on the TV until the wife passes out and I can watch boring ass science/history documentaries while listening to classic rock.
I let the drink dictate the tobacco tonight. I asked myself, "If some old fart British pipe man was drinking Boddington's Ale tonight, what would he most likely be smoking?"
Condor, of course. In a london made Wally Frank billiard. Above mentioned beverage on the side.
The original Balkan Sobranie in a Michael Parks billiard........ok not really - Captain Black Gold in an MM egg
Sail Yellow in a corn cob, I will keep smoking this until it's no longer available. First tobacco I've ever had and I still love it
Breaking in my new Moretti Pipe with some Carter Hall. I usually drink craft IPA's, but since I've been slummin lately with the CH, I decided to put back a few Heinekens.
CH in a MM Legend...with a mug of hot tea on the side
First taste of Pelican. A little light, but this is my kind of "English!" In the Trevi 114ks
Just got home from work. About to hit some Dark Flake in the Savinelli Oscar Dublin.
1792 flake...... its friday..time for margaritas
Does it matter who signs it? (I have Onslowe's signature down pretty good.)
Half and Half in a Mastro. And like it or not; thats just the way it is.
I just have Epstein's mother sign my excuses
Closing out the nite with some stonehaven in a Peterson 06
1st bowl HH Old Dark Fired in my Tinskey Dublin.
I'm enjoying it but SWMBO not 3 minutes ago looked up and asked me what the hell I was burning!
Tastes that much better now (-;
H&H Ambassador in a tan BST author.
Previously, my last two tins were Balkan Sobranie and Rattray's Red Rapparree, and I can say this about Ambassador:
- more intense latakia than RRR
- less peppery than BS
- slightly sweeter than both RRR and BS.
Just finished another bowl of this CF Lancers Slices and half a mason jar of "Apple Pie", the smokeyness of the CF mixed with the apple cinnamon put me into a late fall/ early winter state of mind. Im headed up to McCranies tomorrow to look for more smoke like this.
interesting blend... do you mix them up before filling the pipe, or do you layer one blend on top of the other (like a parfait)?
Or (insert sheepish grin here) did you mean you were actually smoking some CF while munching on some apple pie!
I was feeling a little periquey, so I'm ending the night with some GLP Stratford in the L'Anatra. Good choice, Colin. Good choice.
Very old McClelland's #24 in a Dunnie Grp 5 Bulldog with some fresh brewed Early Morning ice tea.
