H&H Old Dark Fired in my CAO meer
Dark Flake in a twin bore.
Well the little Ropp Sitter gets no love as it needs a wee bit of work so I decided to give it a try out today with some Latakia Flake and we have a winner, the combination of the bit of Cherry Wood flavor off the bowl mixed with Latakia is very nice. The work on the shaft will commence shortly. Having a concentrated mix of Danish Khave with Brazilian Cerrado and a double French Roast espresso topping on the side.
Home at last. Had a nice bowl of Murphy's Mistake in the Dip on the way home. Have now fired up the 2013 POY with a couple coins of Escudo.
That has to be about the best ring grain I've ever seen. Really, really excellent!
Smoking Peretti Oriental #40 in a Falcon.
If you find you have a taste for Lat, I'd be glad to send you a sample of Pirate Kake--pretty much the ultimate Lat Bomb.
Have you sent out that box, yet? If not there was some H&H Cerberus in it that I think has more lat in it than PK. It's also a cleaner tasting Lat. Got some going in a Falcon right now. Pretty tasty and stays the same taste to the bottom.
I know you were talking to someone else, but I figured I'd give my 2c. Plumcake is an enjoyable smoke~ good flavor, I'd call it an after dinner dessert smoke~ It's also mild enough to be a good morning smoke. I would however like to mention another tin. SMELLS just like it, and TASTES like it as well, only it's nowhere near as topped & cased & that's C&D Black Frigate. Very similar, but the C&D won't give you any goop from topping / casings. Not that there's much in plumcake, but you do get the gurgles from time to time with the plumcake. Plumcake IS an excellent flavor & a good reliable tin......if you prefer not to deal with the gurgling, I'd go w. the black frigate~
C&D Black Frigate is excellent!
The box has left the building and I didn't try it! What a dumbass I am, never realized. A day late and a dollar short as usual. In my defense, I DID toss a couple more bowls-worth of Murphy's Mistake in a baggie before the box went to the P.O.
Having some Rock Cob August blend in my Dr. G. Linksman.
My god... it's beautiful. I'm slack-jawed (well, more slack-jawed than usual).
Post-workout smoke is Beck's Ol' Limey Bastard in a Savinelli. Latakia after heavy exercise is kinda weird, but whatever. I like it.
Went to the B&M today and bought some more Escudo, decided to try Maple Street, and bought a Comacho. When I came home I had an envelope waiting from a PSF member and so now, thanks to the generosity of dBear, I am smoking Peretti Park Square in a 2013 Peterson St Pat pipe.
Stayed in bed most of the day recovering after Burger Night with the girl kid. The crystal ball says to rehydrate and smoke something simple. That sounded like a mix of 5Bros. and Skandinajik in some cobs. Good evening, good people.
Another bowl of Erinmore Flake. Very much enjoying this tobacco , which is a surprise as there is quite a lot of fruit flavours in there.
And probably in need of a haircut.
The Weybridge was fantastic. I see why it's popular. As a contrast, I'm smoking MacBaren Virginia #1 in a smooth 1977 Medley (GBD second) medium bend billiard with a flat underside. Simply Lemonade is my drink.
G&H Brown Flake #7 in a no-name meer, I think the young lady at the b&m dispensed from the bottom of the jar! - it's more of a broken flake, but I didn't protest - just loading as it comes, and it's fine.
OT, what's the name of your local?
