    I know that Va Per means Virginia and Perique. I would appreciate definitions for other types of blends, like Balkan, English, Danish, etc...

    English and Balkan do, well, blend at times, excuse my inability to find a more suitable verb here.
    My take is;

    Both English and Balkan blends have latakia and this seems to be the defining factor.
    An English blend has some good amount of Virginia and Latakia with a bit of Oriental.
    A Balkan blend has Virginia and Oriental roles' reversed; more Oriental and Latakia with a bit of Virginia.
    Both of these might have Periques added or not.

    I am not familiar with Danish blends? Is it used for aromatics?

    Oriental is tobacco from Turkey mostly but also from Middle East, Greece, Cyprus etc. Latakia is also an Oriental, just cured in a different way. Orientals include, Samsun, Izmir, Latakia (and various Greek counterparts because they will oh no never use turkish names such as Smyrna, yenidje etc).
