Careful now, that's one fine weed your about to taste. Turn on your favorite tunes, sit down and take your time. Don't rush the bowl. Notice the change as the bowl progresses. Then when done correctly all you want is to start another bowl, as you suck the last puff.

    Bet'cha you can't wait.......

Open it and put it in a Mason jar. It will last indefinitely.

Leave it sealed in it's original container and it will mature nicely. This is one blend I have yet to try but oneday I hopefully will remedy that problem :)

Bail top jars work well also. They are cheap and come in small sizes, good for storing a tins worth of tobacco.

Just recieved a tin of this myself along with a regular FM.. also had not smoked it before. Just got back inside after smoking a bowl of the ATP. I will hold off on too many opinions untill you've tried yours. It was definitely not what i had expected though.

Ahhhh....OTB is my favorite of the Frogs. Love the interaction of Virginia and Perique...perfect combination in perfect harmony. There are more intricate and complex Va/Pers, but this one is an "every day" type.

Beale, this is your tin of FMATP in your ear... geeze, why don't you ever clean this thing, eh! Smoke me... smoke me... smoke me, Beale. I'm worthless in this can. I need to go in your pipe. Char me, tamp me, re-light me. Let my sublime flavor seduce you while you float away on my billowing clouds of smoke. Smoke me Beale, and smoke me now. (Damn, almost sounds like dialog from a porno... Debbie Does Deacon's Downfall, or something).

I agree with Beales tobacco tin.

After the first smoke of this i was a bit dissapointed. I had expected it to be more "Latakiaish". Instead i opened a box that smelled kinda raisin or - whatever dried plums are called in english.. prunes? -
And the taste seemed similar and not too interesting. Pleasant, but nothing special. A while later i thought i would give it another go though and it grew a bit more on me. Then i found myself wanting a quick bowl before bedtime.. FMATP again. Waking up, i grabbed FMATP :) Just came back inside now after loading my MM MacArthur full and smoking the entire thing out in the sunny beautiful weather. It still has that sweet dried fruity taste, but there is just so much more to it. Unfortunately im not experienced enough to know what the different tastes are.. just know there are plenty of them.

I think i may have found a second staple tobacco. It is the exact same sortof easing-into-liking-it experience i had with sir william english classic, my other staple. They are very different, though both have a nice sweetness to them. Definitely a keeper ;)

Most of my favorite tobaccos were like that. The were less than inspiring at first, then I found the right pipe for them, then they grew and grew on me. I can't imagine my rotation being without McConnell's Red Virginia, Pease's Cairo, FMOTT or FMATP (I kind of favor the FMOTT, though), Peterson's Sherlock Holmes or Irish Oak, or Stokkebye's Natural.

I've got others I like very much, and some that had me hooked within ten minutes, but these afore mention blends all have an insidious power over me. Speaking of which, I need to spark-up some Sherlock Holmes and grab me some coffee.

Sherlock Holmes in a MM Great Dane Egg, a good cup of black coffee, the kids are still asleep and the house is still quiet... ah, sweet pipe heaven bliss!! Slave to its insidious power or not, Sherlock Holmes in a cob makes for a fantastic morning pipe. (Come to think of it, the Pease Cairo and Stokkebye Natural are also my morning smokes, and I prefer both of them in a cob as well).
