    I went to my local smoking lounge today and bought a box of pipes. I think now’s the time to cut the tape and see what I got.

    Dr. grabow westbrook i think its an apple
    Jasper co. apple
    a woodstock marked Briar and burly on the top of the shaft
    a Falcon
    G. Court? bent billiard
    and dunhill pat.n 417574/34 numbers matching on the stinger, shell briar I think shape 59
    I think its a 1953 or 54.

    Wait, wait, wait... Dunhill w/matching numbers on the stinger?

    I've never seen a DH with a stinger... are you sure you meant stinger?

    Likely... I have a few DH's and some of them still have the tubes (but I have the tubes tucked away in an old DH box). Now I'll have to pull them out and see if the patent number is on them. I never noticed it on there before.

    That patent no. is probably too late for the Vernon fitting which looks like a stinger but is really a unique push-fit tenon. I have a couple of them and they are pretty cool. Either way, nice score!!
