Ok I went over the top today and made a spreadsheet of my cellared tobacco. I have only two latakias and one Virginia And no perique. Almost all my blends are air cured and only one is stoved. I have some major diversifying to do.

There are a couple of things available online to help you keep track of your cellar. I've heard of a website that keeps your stock online for you, and maybe one of the other members could elaborate on that. I use the "Pipe Tool" app from Pipes & Tobacco magazine / TobaccoReviews.com for my iPod Touch, available through iTunes for $2.99. It keeps all of your information handy, plus it gives you star ratings and links to the appropriate TR page for each tobacco.

Nothing wrong with a spreadsheet, though.

Oh my spreadsheet is over the top. I have each blend named then I have columns for characteristic. I can easily see I am over supplied with ribbon cut, burley, cavendish and aros. I even have it broken down by how many ounces of each type I have and a total weight, which is quite light currently at a measly 3.056 pounds.

I have a pretty good spreadsheet myself, but I am kicking myself that I never added the date purchased column. I guess I can start that now and maybe approximate on the old ones.

I was kind of thinking the same thing myself. I'm an old analog type of guy myself, and I figure a ballpoint pen, a hard-copy/old school list of toby type-up on Word or written down in a spiral-bound notebook, and some simple white sticky labels should do the trick just fine. Of course, you can't play with my system and create cool flow charts and run all manner or nifty sorts and searches.

I have two unidentifieds in my cellar. Haven't gotten around to smoking them yet and I can't tell by the smell or look. I'm assuming they were good ones or I wouldn't have bought a pound in bulk. :msty:
