So I have come to really enjoy the McClelland 22 I bought a few weeks ago.
Now I'm looking for a bulk flake that would be like this in flavor.
So what is your bulk flake of choice and why?

Not had the McC 22 so can't make a comparison.
Hands down top o' the heap for me would be Hamborger Veermaster.
Loose flake that seems dry from the start but for me is actually perfect for immediate fold, stuff and smoke.
Easy to load and light, clean and comfortable on the palate, almost a dusky Va grassy taste. Love the stuff.
Next up would be Altadis Va Slices 507c. Very similar physically to the HV flake but a much sweeter smoke. And a whole lot less expensive!

I am assuming you are looking for a bulk flake for price and availability. Availability is key here. Although HV might be terrific it is very difficult to find in stock. Although recently it has been seen around. Another difficult one is SG Full Virginia Flake.
If you are looking for a McClelland type blend in bulk form Red Cake 5100 is one alot of the guys here seem to like. It is usually in stock. I'm not sure it is much like the #22 but it might be worth a try. The #22 by the way, is terrific, especially with a little age on it.

It certainly was on the missing list while Dan Tobacco sussed out issues with their previous US importer, KRETEK if I recall correctly. I haven't heard the name of their new importer but here's to hoping those days are behind us!!

Get on that, for sure. Luxury Bullseye and Luxury Navy are my favorites, but the Luxury Twist is tasty too. Twist has a little bit of added sweetness, and the other two have Perique, so none of them are straight VA, but they're all good.

I have some Luxury Navy Flake I can send you a sample of if you'd like. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. It's good stuff.
