So after a trade with snake, i got given a genorous amount of carter hall, so i dug out a cob scooped some in and lit.

    What a smoke!!!

The moisture content is perfect, lovely sweet pouch aroma, good nicotine kick, i am jelous as hell you guys across the pond have this basically on tap, it is one of if not the best otc i have had the pleasure of smoking.

Now i get why DGErwin loves the cob/carter hall combo. It just compliments each other perfectly, brilliant no nonsense smoking pleasure, not a hint of bite, not a hint of burley throat, just lovely nutty, slightly buttery, sweet flavours.
for just pure uncomplicated smoking moment john middleton has hit the nail sqaure on the head.

    fantastic.

It's one I wish I liked. Like SWRA, it's a high quality, well-made OTC but I don't care for the taste of it. Certainly glad to hear you enjoyed it, though. Of all the OTC's I've smoked, I'd say it's one of the 2 or 3 best in terms of quality.

    Goes well with coffee too.
I think I might have some now myself.
    Enjoy Craig!

Such is the brilliance of the classic American OTC. Nothing deep, dark, or profound - just a pleasant bowl of tobacco. The big three, Carter Hall, Prince Albert, and Sir Walter Raleigh, all share these qualities even if the shades of flavor are different on each. Just scoop, light, and enjoy. The secret is to clear your mind, and let their subtle flavors find you.

I had my first bowl of Carter Hall fishing for Walleye up north this summer. It was sublime. Glad you liked it.
