So traveling through a small town last night and found what I believe to be a 1965 charatan distinction. I've come to this conclusion as it has lane marks and made by hand is capital letters. It is how ever, a repaired pipe. The repair appears to be professionally done with a sterling silver band, but there is several inches of pipe are gone, must have been a complete break. I can't read all markings, but enough to gather my conclusion, I'm just wanting to assure I'm correct and find out what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say several inches were chopped off the stem. Maybe just half an inch or slightly more than that at the most. I'm sure it'll be a good smoker for you though. Hope you got it for a good price.

I got the charatan and a pre republic Peterson( I'm guessing around 1947) shamrock in really good used condition with plip stem and of course the silver band, both for 75$. I thought I did well. What you think?

Yes, you did. I'd have paid that myself, and I have over 200 pipes. Congrats to you, sir!

So I'm revisiting my initial post seeking help. Can anyone help identify the shape of this charatan. It has no numbers and I'm guessing a size 1 or 2 bowl. I have searched high and low for 6 months to find a same model in literature and found nothing. Ive closely watched ebay and still come up with nothing. Notice the shank is flat on top and bottom, maybe noticed better by looking at the silver repair band. The repair doesn't seem to have affected the stem shape. The markings are on top and are none like any I've found either, most shanks are triangular or come to a point on top. I thought it may be a pot royal 2655dc, but still not seeing any exactly like this one. Could it be a one off? If you have one exactly like this but not repaired, please post picture.
