The PAD is setting in again and I have been looking for a nice briar Cherrywood or even a Poker. I have looked online and have seen some from T. Polinski. They look nice but most of them use filters. Does anyone have any experience with his pipes?

I am also interested in Invicta Briars. They have some nice looking pipes that fit into my budget.

Don't know anything about the company, but I sure do like that Invicta cherrywood. Great lines.

Any experience with Invicta OT? They're from your side of the pond.

The guy who used to make them was an ex Charatan carver - Colin Fromm. Peter Ellam took over from Colin a few years ago. Never owned an Invicta myself but I hear they off good bang for the buck.
Those Polinksis have been testing my resolve in the last few days. Mrs buistd would have my guts for garters though.

In the same boat that's why I am trying to keep the price "reasonable".

I think that Polinski would be a GORGEOUS addition to the rack for $70... but only if he'd taken the time to sand the lathe marks out of the rim! Such a shame he put all that time and effort into intricate carving and rusticating, only to finish with a half-arse sand job that was emphasized by the dark stain. :( That being said... I imagine it smokes great~!

I'm currently breaking in a Polinski that I won. It's kind of a rusticated bulldog poker with a natural finish. It's a great pipe so far. The draw could be a slightly easier though on this one. I may try to see if a 5/32" drill bit would help. I would definitely buy another one. The shipping to the US was fast.

Ya, that's what drew my attention to the pipe. It's my first nekked pipe. The shank has a gloss finish to it. it's pretty cool. I'm wondering how the briar will look after many years of smoking.
