    I actually meant "Eternal Mystery" here, but I'll take either.

    Thanks to recent international incidents, I have finally found out that aged Syrian Tobacco is pronounced

    La- tock - e - ah

    and not

    La - tah - key - a

    Unless the BBC is getting it wrong too. :)

    And put "to" in front. It's actually maters as in I love mater samiches.

    Sorry man, I have to disagree, I say Lat-a-key-a and will continue, I guess people in other countries pronounce it differently, which is wrong ;).

    The real tragedy is that most of the world's stock pile of Syrian latakia was destroyed in a warehouse fire in 2004, and with the un-rest in Syria, which has been going on for quite some time, the prospect of ever getting Syrian leaf again is bleak. And just last month, most of the US stock of remaining Syrian Lat was lost in another fire, so stock up now...
