    Hi All,

As you know a little while ago I had my "Bus Pass Birthday" - I always promised myself a set of special pipes to mark this if I managed to survive to it.

For years I promised myself a set of Falcon Extras with blonde Hunter bowls, but this last year I found myself seithering over whether to add to my meer colection, get a hand made artisan pipe or even a Dunhill, but in the end the tried and true Falcons won the day!

I've posted before the advantages of building up a relationship with a good tobacconist/pipe specialist - 2 days ago I emailed Chris at Bruccianni's and asked him to put me together a set with few or no visible fills. He's done just that - not a fill in sight and they arrived today.

Here they are - aren't they rather nice?

    Best to all

    Gery

Wow! great looking set of pipes. I am jealous. I am really enjoying my Falcons - particularily the one made in England as it has the more open draw.

    Happy smoking!

Those have to be some of the nicest Falcons I've ever seen, Gerry! You'll be the epitomie of class and good taste smoking those beauties.

Gerry - by the way - what age is "bus pass"? I turn 55 this year and am hoping this age is getting extended!

Nice......I've never seen Falcons like that. All the ones I've seen are the light brushed aluminum. I like the dark. Makes me want to try one.

That's a truly handsome set of pipes, Gerry! Congratulations on acquiring it (and living long enough to "warrant" it)!! I think it's always great to set a little milestone and achieve it. The fact that you & your tobacconist have such a good relationship is wonderful. It's nice to see that kind of interaction in today's world where "Big Box" stores and Internet sales are running amok.

I've never smoked a Falcon, nor a Cob, as I've mentioned in other posts. You folks are motivating me to expand my horizons!

    Cheers!

Forums do do that to you Carl! I stopped experimenting with pipes when I discovered Falcons way back in the 70s - then I found the first Pipe Smoking Forum and the "voyage of discovery" recommenced.

I actually think that is the great thing about forums - we are all experts in what we do and most of us know a lot about a limited range of things, but put us all together and what a range of knowledge and experience we have to share,

    Best to all

    Gerry

Can't add anything that hasn't already been said. Gerry, that is pretty much one of the nicest sets of pipes I've ever seen. I do like the look of the darker stems compared to the brushed aluminum. Now you need to call up Rich at 4 Noggins and treat yourself to a massive bout of TAD!
