Good info. I recognized some of the names on there, but one struck me as interesting - John Cromwell. Turns out that he is the father of James Cromwell, who is one of my favorite actors. James Cromwell is a character actor who has had some really great roles: Stretch Cunningham (All in the Family), the warden from The Green mile, and the sheep rancher from Babe. (An a host of other great characters).

I find it strange that those pictures don't show anybody with a meerschaum pipe.. I see mostly briars, with a few cobs.

Interesting, I see Mr. Charles Starrett of Athol, Massachusetts didn't stick with the family business.

Interesting list. Of note on first glance, Charles Puffy seems to be a case of a guy growing into his name.

As a blues and jazz guitarist myself I recognized most ot the musicians on the list, and of course my hero to the left here Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

They didn't mention Oom Paul, a head of South Africa in the 1890s. I wonder if he smoked the pipe named after him.

I didn't realize President Reagan was a pipe smoker. In regards to blues guitarits, did they have the great Stevie Ray Vaughn on there? How about Gatemouth Brown and Albert Collins? Stevie Ray and Albert did a blues record together and Albert was smoking his pipe (and his guitar!) on the cover.

The Hobbit looks like it's going to be THE pipe porn movie. A wizard, 12 dwarves and a hobbit!

    Absolutely he did.
