It's here, from Turkey (courtesy of Ebay) my very first meer, an Imp, black one.
(You know me and black pipes) ;)
    Here are the pics.
In the pic of it in the open case, that is not a scratch, it's a reflection.

Mington... I'll admit I'm not a fan of black (or alternately) colored pipes. Gimme wood tones. But in this case I'll eat my own words. That is a most beautiful pipe indeed. So good looking I'd be afraid to smoke it were it not for the fact that, thats what its made for. I work of art !

Very nice! Hope you read up on prepping your new meer before you fired it up.

IMP makes a fine pipe, should give you great service.

    Thanks guys.

It's OK MrBen, I like wood tones too, but am not a fan of rusticated pipes. To each his own I guess.
I am a more modern guy than old school. lol
In saying that, wait till you see the next pipe I am eying. I will be half eating my words. Stay tuned.

Yes MrT-Bear, I have been doing my homework on meers for awhile now.
    No alcohol...right?

Getting ready to fire it up now.
I am stoked! (No pun intended. heh)

I have a IMP pipe very similar to yours. I bought mine because the maker offered it in a rich deep red, like the pre-colored meerschaums of 100 years ago (something like that time). Anyway, my pipe has lost some of the deep color in a couple of places. Not that disappointed because I paid around $80 for it. Still, IMP makes good pipes for the money. Your's is a beauty.

    Be well.
    Ol Brokedik.

Beautiful pipe. I'm a fan of all colors, natural or rusticated, it doesn't matter. About the only thing that will turn me away is the shape of a pipe, and even then I might still be persuaded.

    Hi All,

Other than African Meers I have never seen a black one before - but it's seriously nice; enjoy in good health for many years.

I've had an IMP Meer before and found it an excellent smoker with a nice solid connector - do keep us posted on how she goes,

    Happy Smoking

Seriously drop dead gorgeous pipe. I fully expect to see it featured in your next You Tube -- I'm thinking with a jacket and ascot. :)

Do you know how they color the pipe? Is it stained, or do they use colored wax, or..?

Many of the Turkish carvers are using dyed/colored waxes on their pipes now. This may be the case here. I've noticed that these pre-colored pipes do fade after time, as the wax is absorbed and/or rubbed off. As time goes by, the natural coloring process replaces this tinted wax. Not sure what the eventual results will be with yours....interesting experiment in progress???
