So, after reading Moo's Flake Take post, I've had some pretty good success with the flakes I already have in my cellar. I'm looking forward to UPS getting here tomorrow--they're bringing me:

    -Dunhill GAF
    -Erinmore Flake
-Fribourg & Treyer Cut Blended Plug
-FMOTT (just because I've heard so much about it)

What are your experiences with these flakes, and for that matter, any others? I finally decided I really like Escudo, and I've also tried OGS and Solani 633. I'd love to try some of the SGs, but of course most of us are out of luck on that.

If GAF was illegal, and could only be purchased from dealers who had swallowed condoms of it...I'd happily wait the obligatory 24 hours to (re)claim it. It's not called 'GAF' for nothing!

OGS, Escudo, and Erinmore aren't slouches, either. (Erinmore may be more iffy to a smoker unaccustomed to Lakelands. It has a Juicy Fruit thing going on.)

    Never had the others.

If you liked Erinmore then you will probably enjoy the world of Samuel Gawith flakes if they ever return to our not totally flakeless shores.

Easy to find and easy to enjoy are MacBarens Navy Flake and the ever-popular Stokkebyes Luxury Bullseye-, Curly Cut-, Navy- and Twist flakes. If you get where Orliks Golden Sliced seems too one dimensional, mix it 50-50 with any of the above for OGS v2.0. Another easy get is GL Pease Union Square. It is loved by thousands - maybe billions - but the why of that remains a mystery to me.

Worth a trip to the well - Reiner Long Golden Flake (aka #71). If you like Escudo, rip some of this stuff up and smoke it slow.

Erinmore Flake is pretty tasty, in my opinion. Also, I think F&T's Cut Virginia Plug is better than their Cut Blended Plug and the Dunhill Flake, but, again, just my taste. FMOTT is a nice, mild English, although it's not a flake. As far as the Frog line goes I'd suggest Across the Pond if you haven't yet tried it.

Flakes are great! Good choices all around.

    GAF and OGS are among
    my top three, so you're
    doing well. :eek:hyeah:
    Haven't had any F&T's
    yet, so I'm looking forward
    to the review, nudge, nudge.
    Erinmore is a distant fourth
in my view, but still good.
    Soooo many flakes out there
to try. If I only had the time.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the "GAF" in Dunhill GAF?

    Beeftip,

Somewhat of an inside joke around here.
    Stands for Gorilla Asscrack Flake.
I won't bore you with the details as
to how it got it's nickname, but it's
    just Dunhill Flake.

    Yes...doesn't everyone?

The boring details Snake spoke of are, to paraphrase, 'If it was called gorilla asscrack flake, I'd still smoke it', or words to that effect.

We have a trouble making poster here who likes to 'bastardize' proper weed names. This has been one of his more successful re-christenings. (He's never been unsuccessful, FWIW. Course, I'm impressionable, and immature.)To date, I can't think of that delicious blue and white tin without calling it GAF. Thanks, 'Eduardo'!!! (Name changed to protect the guilty.)

Got the shipment today and had about half a bowl of GAF before I got interrupted. Smelled pretty good in the tin, rubbed out well, packed well, stayed lit, got better once I hit the halfway point. I look forward to finishing a whole one and firing up the other tins tomorrow.
