Stopped by an antique shop today when I found out I was heading into work 30 minutes early. Was perusing through the shop (pipes are in about 3 locations, really annoying when trying to find them) and found this nice little bulldog for $5. I figured I'd be stupid not to get it.

Just need to go get a stem and clean her up. Now I need to find out where to get a square stem...

Nice find, old wood is usually good wood, let us know how it smokes when you get it cleaned up and stemmed.

    Cool dog! Hope you find
a stem for that and report
back as to how it smokes.
For 5 bucks, it should be
    well worth it.

Contact http://www.norwoodspiperepair.com/ for a new stem. Floyd is excellent with this stuff. He has a faux amber acrylic that would be awesome on that puppy of yours.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone.

I'm gonna try to get out to my B&M maybe Thursday afternoon. They said a new stem is $15-20, depending. Maybe I'll be smoking it by the weekend?

That is my favorite pipe shape! I love bulldog, bent bulldog, squat bulldogs, even the snoring and pooping kind! It's gonna be a beauty once you get a stem on it!

    I'm jealous!

Dropped her off at the B&M to get a new stem fitted. I was hoping for tapered, but all they had in diamond shank were saddle stems. Oh well. Can't wait to load this puppy up some time next week.

I bet you'll be happier with a saddle. That pipe was built for one.

You're probably right. There's just something about a tapered bit for a bulldog in my mind, though.

I really prefer tapered stems for bulldogs as well but I would have to agree this specific one will look great with a saddle, probably because the pipe is black and it breaks up the shape a little

Finally picked her up with a brand new stem.

She's currently loaded up with some Sutliff No. 5 and is smoking quite nice.
