Do the Dr. Grabow Lark pipes have a smaller bowl chamber?

I've seen a couple things that seem like they're saying they have the same size chamber as a Duke?

If it has the same size bowl, what makes it a perfect pocket pipe?

The Larks I get from the factory are rusticated with a short saddle bit stem total length of pipe around 5 inches just my prefrence I guess.I know my Buckos and some of my other Grabows are smaller and are all great smokers but my Lark is my everyday pipe,to each there own.

CD, Just riding around.. looking for a Christmas Tree.. played 9....'spect 6 would have been better.

Lark and Duke are the same size. In my day (1966--1991) The Duke took a paper filter while the Lark had a "rook" metal cleaner. Cannot be sure about todays production.. ted

So I broke down and bought me a Grabow Lark today.

I had my first smoke in it tonight, and I'm not sure what I think about it.

The pipe itself is much smaller than the Duke but the bowls really are the same size as far as I can tell. It still took me an hour to smoke a bowl, and I was kinda thinking along the lines of it being a shorter smoke.

It didn't get nearly as hot as I feared it would, perhaps that's because of the rustication.

The thing that really took me by surprise is that it has a tendency to "slip" while I'm trying to clinch it, took me a while to get the hang of it with this pipe.

But I do think I like it.

At first I didn't like it, because I couldn't clench it. But in just a short while I learned how to so that's not a problem anymore.

If I get careless it will get very hot, but that just teaches me not to be careless! ;)

Overall, I love it. As I've said in another thread here I swear my Carter Hall tastes better in this pipe than any of my others ... even my cobs (hides from DGE) ...

PS - I'm going to have to get two more so that I can rotate them a little and not wear this one out prematurely.

You can order them right through the factory and save a few $$$$$ plus free shipping.
