But be careful. I hear that teddy bear is off the chain at night and aggressively protects the tobacco patch.

As for OTC, can't go wrong with Condor as mentioned above. Mellow Virginia is worth a try, it's not a classic but it's decent enough, not too unlike Condor Ready Rubbed and most folk who sell pipe tobacco will stock it. Don't bother with Gold Block, another common one, it's a little naff. If you can find a proper B&M store, I'm sure there's bound to be a few in London, can't recommend RDF enough, failing that, if you plump for any Germain's you're likely to come up trumps.

Is that readily available? Or do I have to head to a specific shop?

It's not OTC, my usual internet stockist has only started selling in past couple of months. I guess you'll need a B&M.

    Gotcha.

I looked it up at mysmokingshop.co.uk and it looks like it is blended by Peter Stokkebye (although I did read somewhere that Gawith & Hoggarth may blend it).

Any recommended pipe/tobacco shops in London? I'll be outside of town in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire but will be traveling into the city frequently.

Wouldn't be surprised. I found out today that Stonehaven is RDF rebadged.

Done a few internet searches, comes up with a few tobacconists but not sure if they're proper B&Ms or just newsagents that sell mainly cigarettes and RYO. All the main ones I know of are up north.

Well I have to say that I was very disappointed in the tobacco availability and choice in the London area.

I went to James Fox's shop and there was nothing there that I could not get cheaper in the states. I tried to find Robert Lewis' shop None of the Tesco convenience/grocery stores in downtown London had anything of merit.

Luckily the Tesco way out in Gerrard's Cross where I was staying had Gold Block, St. Bruno's Ready Rubbed, and Condor Ready Rubbed. I bought several there.

However, in my second pick you will see what they had at Heathrow's duty free shop and it was about half of what I paid out in town. Word to the wise..................wait for the duty free.
