If the cleaner was loose in the stem I would suggest soaking it with some liquid soap and then holding the end of the tenon tightly against the nozzle of a 125 PSI compressed air hose nozzle but if the cleaner is tightly stuck in the stem I doubt anything will work.

Try burning off all the cotten of another pipe cleaner. Then carefully untwist the end of it just a bit and if can bend the ends into a small fishook type shape inward. Push into bit till it makes contact with the stuck cleaner. Then with small needle nosed plyers force it in more while twisting. With luck you can snag the stuck cleaner and maybe drag it out. Also a drop or so of olive oil to help lube the stuck cleaner might help?

Good idea, the air hose. But I can't help but imagine him launching that stem across his backyard.

Maybe some needle-tip tweezers? They sell them in the cosmetics section of Target, I think. That's where my wife found another set after I ruined hers doing something stupid.

Another possibility is to heat the stem and straighten it, get the cleaner out, and then re-bend.

Cut the stem in half, remove said obstacle, then either crazy glue or duct tape the stem back together and it give it a good polish.

    Your welcome. ;)
