Todays project was a Churchwarden Horn. Had a small block of plateau that, well, not much I could do with it. Until now. Spent the morning in the shop knocking all the wood off the block that didn't look like a pipe. Here's what was hiding underneath.
Length is 10 and 7/8". 1 and 3/4" tall. Bowl is 3/4" by 1 and 3/8". Left a little plateau on the back of the rim and stained it black and light brown. Tripoli, white diamond, carnauba finishes it up.
    Any thoughts?

Basil, That is so BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I absolutely love it! Stunning job! Keep telling myself "I don't need anymore pipes". I have to be firm with myself. Just tell us you're keeping that one, because you have to have a CW. Because if you put that up for sale my PAD may start up again and I'll be out of control and once again it will be all your fault. What a beautiful pipe!:D

Well, I've already got a churchwarden. And I have to agree, we should all have a churchwarden, even if it's just for conversations, lol. But not real sure what I'll do with this one right now. There is a blemish on it, and rather than rusticate it and hide this gorgous grain, I left it alone. So it's not perfect. Hence the problem, lol. So right now your PAD and my conscience is safe! And thank you!

That is really nice. The blemish just adds to the beauty.

Thanks, I made this from the last remaining piece of briar that Gandalf's wand came from.

Tiny block indeed! Very well utilized. Fine work! And to echo Smokey Tom, if you wanted you could easily pair a second shorter stem for a very lithe looking Zulu.

And as a side, I don't need another CW, but I would be greatly tempted by this :D
