Received my 8oz of Newminster round slices and was wondering what is the preferred method of prepping? They vary greatly in size and shape, unlike PS Luxury Bullseye flake, so there is little to no chance of my preferred fold and stuff method.
    They looked and smelled yummy

Fold and stuff is definitively not an option like you said.

It depends what kind of smoke and combustion you want.

Some drop the medallions or coins in the pipe and light up. So you would need a bowl size adapted to the size of the medallions/coins.

Others rub them partially or totally.

Also called cannonball method. Roll into a ball and drop it in, and fire away. That's how I sometimes smoke PS LBF. Don't roll too hard. Depends on coin and pipe size to make it work.

I've only used this method with LBF, but looking forward to trying it with Escudo.

Musketball is the same as cannonball, just for small pipes.

while we are talking pipe packing methods, I recall seeing a method for placing a pipe facedown in a small pile of tobacco and swirling the pipe and the tobacco just fed its way up into the pipe and it packer almost perfectly. Does anyone know what this method is called or maybe even have a YouTube link?

I've seen it called the reverse gravity fill. Here's a video:

Not to lead this thread down a tangent, but I'm going to have to try that 'reverse gravity fill'. Like many things, I hope it's as easy as it looks!

I enjoy this video every time I watch it. It must be his mannerisms or something. That and the method works really well.

I use this method all the time. I just put pipe in the pouch and swirl it around. Its less messy that way.
