There's a lot of talk about the best blend for this, or the best blend for that. From the mildly pleasant to the utter sublime, the site is indeed full of what people here like to smoke. I'm interested in hearing what blends members here consider to be so bad, that to force them even on death row inmates would be a violation of human rights!

Yep. Mixture #__ is the one we do not speak of.
Borkum Riff in all it's incarnations was pretty bad for me as well, but i could doctor it with some PA and it was just ok. Tongue bite deluxe for sure on it's own!

My vote goes to Borkum Riff Cherry Cavendish, a tobacco I bought from a forlorn looking tobacconist in a near empty shop. I bought it only to buy something from the poor guy. It should be called "Borkum Riff Dragon's Breath."

But from a strictly personal standpoint, I'd have to choose Firedance Flake. Many love it. I can't abide it.

This mixture of which shall not be named, might it be the progeny of Sutliff?

Anything by Super Value. Unless you enjoy the aroma of oyster shells spoiling in the sun.

    Yep.

I'd add Paladin to the fray too.

I have to disagree with you, there. Blender's Gold Vanilla isn't too bad.

I didn't use to like Firedance Flake till I cut it up into cubes then left out to dry till crunchy.... that's how I treat most flakes that don't play nice. :bing:

Well, for me, it was the smell, both in the tin and beneath the match that was the turn-off. Beyond that, I thought it was a very well-made flake. My run-in with Firedance was a few years back, and even though I'm tempted to give it another shot, there are sooooo many other, untasted baccys ahead of it in the queue.

Every Blender's Gold blend I've been unfortunate to try has been soaked in humectant and tastes like ash.

I am really tempted to try Bokum Riff. They sell it at CVS. I have this strange idea that it might be better than Captain Black and the "big bag" stuff.

And I want to know if it's really that bad.

This thread only fuels my curiosity.

I thought Balkan Sasieni was pretty rough but maybe I just don't have enough hair on my chest for that one.

I have to agree with Jesla on this one! What was it about Balkan Sasieni that you don't like? To me it's like candy, but then again I'm a fan of thick, nasty, latakia-driven tobaccos. It's not kick-you-in-the-pants nicotine heavy like Irish Flake or anything.
