Of the many comments Jesla has made, it has always stuck in my mind that he smokes his pipe on his motorcycle. I didn't wear my full face helmet today, only the three-quarter model without a face shield, so I decided to give it a try. Long story short: never again.

This is not a practice for the meek. Nothing happened, which is usual on a motorcycle, but, as is also usual, I was prepared for the worst. Having a pipe jammed into my brain in the event of a spill was the worst I could imagine. It takes enough quick thinking and instinct to land right when the rubber side is off the road. All I could think was, "Will I remember to unclench in the event of disaster?" I've got too many things to worry about on the bike, I don't need to add this to the list. People in SUVs on cell phones is enough for me.

Jesla, you are a braver man than I am. A tip of the helmet in your direction.

    Ride safely,
    WK

haha, i would never attempt to smoke a pipe on my bike. A cigar is one thing, but never a pipe. If I happen to drop a cigar, oh well, no big deal. But not one of my pipes, not even a cob.

The good news is that if we ever go to a pipe gathering, we'll know which one is Jesla. He's the guy with no eyebrows and flecks of tobacco imbedded in his face. :laff:

I used to burn the occasional stogie on my bike, but I just can't imagine trying to smoke a pipe while riding. Maybe if I had a GoldWing... they probably have go-go gadget arms to spring out and cup their hand around the bowl for you. As an option, at least, if not on the base model.

    This is a humorous thread!

...and to think that all this is done while flying 60 mph down the road with your legs wrapped around a tank of volitile and highly falmmable liquid!! That takes some guts! :)
