I agree but there is a timeless enjoyment to smoking, that regardless of the current social trend can never be erased and will always appreciated. You are very right about the speed of life, I notice this every day people are so caught up with life they forget to actually live it. this seems too be extremely prevalent in my younger generation.

Life is a cabaret. I cannot agree enough with everything that has been said so far, so I won't try to add. I'm too busy enjoying the roses that bloom from my pipe, hoping to make some converts on my daily walkabouts.

    Cheers,
    WK

I choose to smell the roses, not just walk by them.
Life is too short as it is.

Well said, I love it. Yesterday morning I had my first morning pipe with a cup of coffee out on the deck. My wife was gone so I was out there by myself (usually my pipe time is solo anyway)...but as you said it gave me time to reflect, and it set such a nice tone for the remainder of the day!

I've started to venture out with my pipe more. Unfortunately, long walks are not for me, but I do take it with me in the car when I go to pick my son up from school. Parent pick-up is a line of cars and you have to wait in line. Might as well enjoy a good smoke. After all, I'm trying to avoid the cancer sticks. I don't the evil eye yet, eveyone is more startled by a woman smoking a pipe more then anything else. The men seem slightly amused. It's funny the reactions I'm getting, but I don't really care because I love the pipe so much and it's really getting off the cigs. Sorry for the run on. I don't think I'll be much of a draw on the conversion side, just more of a novelty that just might make a few women say "hmmm".:D
