to getting some St. James Flake.

I placed an order for FVF and SJF sat morning early, order went thru, confirmation email received, etc. Then today I get the "Sorry but we didn't really have the SJF that we said we had..." email.

I guess on the upside I did pick up a fair supply of FVF. I really was more excited about getting to try SJF.

Maybe next time. I am sure ya'll know how that goes. I have gotten the dreaded 'sorry' email very frequently lately.

That's a shame, Glenn. Sorry you had to go through that. Maybe next time, right?:)

It is damn near impossible to get a hold of FVF or SJF these days. By the time I usually hear about availability someplace, the stock is gone.

This thread makes me happy that i live in canada.

Was in my local baccy shop yesterday and got a tin of SG SL and noticed he had about 10 tins of FVF left.

I still have a full tin of FVF or else id be picking one up for sure!

I'd rather not turn it into something negative about a particular etailer. It has happened to me with orders from a few different etailers in recent months.

Hmmm...I never thought of crossing the border to Canada for pipe tobacco. Gives me an idea. ;)
    (I am only 30 - 45 minutes away).
Gotta find out the laws/rules though on purchasing tobacco products.

Too true. Happened to me with an Old Boy I ordered last week. After scouring the net to find a place with the one I wanted in stock I placed the order Friday from a well-known and respected merchant that supposedly keeps their inventory updated online realtime. Monday morning I get the email "sorry" letter. Bums me out.

Best way to insure you get what you are shopping for is to call the vendor. Directly and place the order and verify stock levels and get the sales clerk's name. This is common where leaf that is in high demand, and limited availability. Steve Monjeuer (SP?) told me last summer SG will discontinue tinning this year or soon agter and do bulk packaging. Makes sense but their profit margin on the tins have got to be what is preventing this move from happening like now!

I got the same email about "sorry but we didn't have Squadron Leader in stock". But they did ship the FVF
