After reading all the tips on how to restore pipes I finally got the courage and "know how" to tackle the job on one of my favorites pipes. The varnish had flaked off in spots, the stem had oxidized, etc. After the resoration it is even better looking than when it was new. This forum is great!!!!

    Hi All,

and isn't it real feeling of satisfaction when you get one looking nice again due to your own efforts? I think it's a great feeling and will buy a few Old Dogs in the Autumn simply to have a great Winter Hobby.

    Keep up the good work!

    Gerry

I'll try to post a pic soon. I'll also be getting two of my 20 or 30 year old favorites back from Walker's Repair back in a couple of months. To me, having a few pipes getting restored is as good as getting a few new expensive pipes. Especially considering how fond I am of them.
