I have smoked a pipe off and on (mostly off) for 40+ years. I have b een a pipe smoker for the last couple of years.

In the last week or so, I have experienced a new sensation. The vast majority of times now I actually feel a stab of disappointment when I finish a bowl. The smoke has been so smooth, gurgle free, bite free and effortless. There is very little to no dottle. I get this experience with my cobs, meers and even the one briar I have in rotation. I guess I am starting to get the hang of it.:msty:

You gotta' love those little moments when life just slips into the flow, things slow down, and you find yourself floating gracefully down a path of unconditional bliss. This is what makes the journey all worth while :bing:

    Be care free!

Glad to hear that DGE! I only hit "the zone" every once and awhile. Leaves room for more pipe smoking practice!

it's good when this happens--lately (this past year) i have settled on about four favorite blends, and things seem to just fall into place on a regular basis--familiarity with the product i suppose--:puffy:

Congrats amigo. It looks as though you have indeed found the groove.....nice huh?
My "Condor moments" usually happen when I'm least expecting them, and usually when I'm just relaxing...not concentrating on the pipe or anything else. Next thing I know, I'm sitting in wide-eyed amazement, wondering what just happened, and grinning from ear to ear. Yeah........nice!

I was till Carter Hall latched on to me and refuses to let go. But, then again, I am offering no resistance.:old:
