I recently bought a old Meer that looks alot like a Peterson and is designed like the system pipes of theirs but, it is not marked except for a logo on the stem that is puzzling and no sliver cap on the shank. Did the silver cap fall off and did someone replace the stem? The logo is a pipe with legs and an eye above, almost like smoke but definitely an eye like the one on our dollar bill. Hopefully I'll be able to post some photos of it.

Well, As usual I cant post a photo here for some dad burn reason. Hopefully someone will recognize the logo I described.

It's likely a Laxey pipe, made on the Isle of Man. Laxey made African meers for several companies, like Peterson and Barling, but they also had several house brands too...yours is possibly one of these. I have a Manxland meer from them...it has three legs for a logo.

Looking at your pictures, I think YinYang is on the right track. It does look a lot like a Peterson that was made in Africa. I must say interesting logo and I have never seen it before.

Strong & Ying, That was my thoughts also. But without concrete evidence it just our best guess I reckon.
Thank you all for your help and confirming my thoughts. Thanks again:bow:

    I say good deal too!

I wonder with it being a system...i wonder if it was no go'd by Peterson standards due to it's off color? The Pete's I've seen in that shape are more whitish? Man, I'm winging a guess, but maybe Laxey kept these, since they are obviously sound, and just put another unique stamping on the stem, making them their own? (I didn't see that logo while searching, either.)

Regardless of story, she is a beaut!

    Ah.

I'm not the best judge with colors, anyhow. Of course, the color is immaterial to my mind...a pretty pipe is a pretty pipe!
