Joining the Clinchers Reich a DGErwin11 Custom for me ?

    Bob,

    Thank you for the kind words. I hope you were not being literal when you said " I've smoked them to death."

    But your request is one I am not comfortable accepting. The stem and shank really do need to be worked as a single unit to get the proper fit.

    I am afraid I would not be able to do it justice.

    I've been waiting on an order from Aristocob for awhile, and I smoke both cobs every day.
    Thankfully they have not died, but they have been smoked a lot.
    I will probably be ordering a few more in the near future.

    Ahh, but what if he sent the stem to you before shaping?

    The tenon is very thick, which would lead to very narrow walled mortise. I don't have the capability of banding the shank and would be concerned about it splitting.

    Bob, your comment caught my eye and I just checked our records and hate to admit that we dropped the ball.     ones that I frequented or frequent. It's far more relaxed - and the friendliest forum I have

    I posted in another thread about this. Indeed Scott did expedite my old order and also was generous enough to include a few 5th avenue cobs in addition to my original order. It wasn't necessary Scott, but I sincerely thank you, and look forward to ordering from you in the future. :appl:

    Maybe Rauchers Reich would have been easier
    on the ears? Reich is just 'empire, or realm' anyway.
