SWR in a cob is a great combination. Enjoy.

Sir Walter Raleigh is, in my opinion, the very best OTC out there. I know we've got a lot of CH loyalists around here, and I respect that, but you're in for a nice smoke with SWR. Hope you enjoy!

You know the name escapes me without checking the MM website but it's the one that looks like a Washington only with orange/yellow stem. SW smokes fantastic and this is a great cob! Two thubs up for both the pipe and baccy!!! :thu2:

It has like a faux corn print on the shank?...its a Legend. When I first bought mine (about a three weeks ago), I wasnt a fan of the corn print, or the yellow stain on the bowl...its a good smoker though. The amber stem grew on me too...

Yea, my Washingtons have that faux corn print too, the amber colored stem seems to be a bit more sturdy than the black ones on my Washingtons which is cool.

I agree. I found the amber stem to be a bit harder. Not as soft as the black ones...My Washington is an older roundtop style...Ive had it for years. Im not too big on the faux corn print...seems a little corny to me...(see what I did there? :D)

Preach , I smoke a Legend [ sometimes a CG ] w/ filter and SWR almost every morning w/ coffee ... It's a perfect combo .. you'll see :th1: I honestly have no desire to smoke anything else in the morning . Every now and then I'll try something else and it just dosent do it for me . SWR/ Cob / Coffee = bliss

I'm the same way, only with no filter (I only smoke bent cobs) and Carter Hall instead...no desire whatsoever for anything else with my coffee...

Hmm.. So I shouldn't get a black stem then? I have a bent Legen with an amber colored stem and I managed to clench it do much it won't pass a pipe cleaner.

I've always heard on this forum that guys replace the cheap MM stems with Forever Stems. There's at least a couple threads here somewhere... I don't know too much about them myself, I hear they're great!

Well, the good thing about cobs is that you can get replacement stems cheap...Aristocob sells them or $.50 a piece...

Well that's good to hear. As of it is smokeable and I had managed to open it enough with cramming random things through to try to open it. I think it just gives my pipe character.
